Aims and Objectives

The General Directorate of the AOP (Administrative office of the president) is created as an independent budgetary unit within the existing political system of the country, under the auspices of H.E the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, to work towards strengthening well, transparent, active and corruption-free government operating in accordance with the relevant regulations. The department is responsible for coherence and co-ordinating the affairs, providing professional assistance to H.E the President for enforcement of presidential authorities in 3 pillars of state -  (executive, legislative, and judiciary)

It has also been monitoring the implementation of the decisions made by H.E the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the decisions made by the Council of Ministers and its committees and reports the progress  back to the H.E the President.

 

General Directorate of the AOP plays an active role in creating transparency in governance and securing the trust between the government and the nation.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

General Directorate of the AOP of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan provides the required facilities to H.E the president for enforcement of his authorities over the three  branches of government in accordance to the intended job description and coherent regulations.

 

According to the regulation and duties, The goals and activities of the General Directorate of the AOP has been summarized, into nine key areas as following:

 

  • Creating coordination and work coherence between the three  branches of the government  

 

  • Facilitating affairs between all three  branches of government and H.E the president

 

  • Follow up on the orders and decrees of H.E the President, the cabinet approval and report its results back to H.E the President

  • Overseeing the implementation of the government through analyzing, evaluating, and reporting on the activities of the three  branches of the government and submitting a comprehensive report submission to the office of H.E the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan

 

  • Contributing to the Implementation of H.E the President's authorities as contained in Articles 64 and 75 of the Constitution

 

  • Analyzing, evaluating, reviewing and developing the policies of ministries and departments

 

  • ـ Completion and preparation of documents discussed at Cabinet meetings for decision making and issuing decisions to ministries and departments

 

  • ـ Completion and preparation of Cabinet Committees documents and proceeding Secretarial Affairs

 

  • If necessary, holding Jirga’s and national programs,  pursuing and monitoring their implementation, as directed by H.E the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
